September Favourites

I love reading about other peoples favourite products and activities to do throughout the month and I thought I would start doing favourites. I have a few different categories to get through so I'm just going to jump right in!

Makeup/Beauty:
I have a few different makeup bits and bobs that I've been loving lately, first being my Maybelline Brow-drama. I must have tried about 10 brow products in the last few months because I came to realise that I looked ridiculous having a full face of makeup on and barely visible brows. Anyway, the only one that has worked has been the Brow-drama and I absolutely love it! You just brush it through your natural brow and it makes them look fuller and darker without taking ages to do.
Next I have a another Maybelline product which is the Colour-drama in the shade Berry Much. This is your classic Autumn/Winter berry shade and really helps to bring a makeup look to life.
I've been really getting into contouring lately and the product I have been using to death is the Makeup Revolution Ultra Sculpt and Contour Kit in the shade Ultra Fair CO1. There is a done fall to this product which is the blush, it just does not show up! The contour shade and highlight however have so much colour pay off that you barely need to touch it with your brush and you have enough product. I recently bought a Smokey Eye Brush from Wilko which is incredible! I use it to apply the contour shade to the crease of my eye (the shade is a perfect transition shade).

Entertainment:
My favourite music artist recently are The Weeknd. I wasn't to fussed on him when he did the song for 50 Shades of Grey but slowly the song Earned It really grew on me. I was recently given his album 'Beauty Behind The Madness' for my birthday and I must have listened to it a good 50 times, I suddenly just fell in love with his music. My favourite songs are The Hills, Can't Feel My Face and Dark Times. Seriously, give this guy a listen and you will not regret it.
I've had to find a new TV series to obsess over lately and I started watching 90210 on Netflix and after 3 episodes I was hooked. I'm now on the 4th season and I just can't get enough of it. I love the characters, the plot stories and the general bubbly darkness of it all. I'm not going to give any spoilers but the 2nd series was so intense and aggravating that it made me like the show more. If you're into shows like Pretty Little Liars or Gossip Girl you would really enjoy this show.
I went on holiday at the beginning of the month and I read the book PS. I Love You. I had already seen the film but I always feel that the books are better and really wanted to give it a read, best decision I have ever made. This is genuinely one of the best books I have ever read and I think I ever will read. I'm not going to say to much because there is a lot that could be ruined if I said anything but the love story within this book is so heart breaking and emotional that I personally really felt for this woman and I felt really connected to her.

Random:
I got some new boots recently because it is obviously getting into the colder months now and when I'm out walking my dog or going shopping I want some really sturdy, comfortable and fashionable shoes on. I got the Platform Chelsea Boots for H&M which cost £29.99. SO WORTH IT! Of course they made my feet rub like heck when I first started breaking them in but I knew that was going to happen. I've always really liked these sort of chunky looking boot and I already have a pair of black platform boots so I decided to get these in Burgundy, sure it's a little harder to pair with colours but if you're like me and only wear black or grey they are perfect!
Another birthday present I got was a Babyliss Curling Wand Pro (£25 John Lewis). I have always loved curling my hair but it just took so long, since I've had my hair cut I have been constantly curling it. These curlers have 4 heat settings for different size curl but I usually use it on 180 degrees, this gives me the perfect curl.
My last favourite has to be candles. I love candles all year round and burn them whenever I have the opportunity too. I currently have my Yankee Candle in Witches Brew burning which to me smells like campfire and Halloween, it's perfect.

I hope you enjoy this post and I'm thinking about making it a monthly thing that I post.

September Birchbox

I recently became a subscriber to Birchbox and received my first box this month! I've been wanting to become a subscriber for quite a while now but I just never got round to doing until I noticed that it was the companies birthday this month! What a better time to start then during the birthday month!

FACTS! There's a few bits and bobs that you should know before subscribing but don't worry, they're all good. It's super affordable, £10 for the box and then £2.95 for postage! Its literally incredible considering that you get 5 deluxe samples of high end makeup and beauty products!

WHAT DID I GET? I got 5 sample sizes of incredible products and a 'beauty bonus' which I'm already using to death!

  1. Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Face Polish; £26. This stuff is incredible, honestly I've tried my fair share of face polishes and scrubs and none of them compare to this. I've used this 3 times so far and my skin is looking so much nicer. You massage the product into clean, damp skin and then wash it off with warm water, simple! I tend to massage it in, leave it for 5 - 10 minutes then rinse it off so that it has time to really sink in to my skin and make a difference.
  2. John Masters Organics Citrus Neroli Detangler; £16. Now if you're like me and have no idea what neroli is don't worry, I goggled it. Neroli is an essential oil distilled from the flowers of a Seville orange and is used in perfume. This product smells amazing, you really get the citrus smell coming through and the smells lingers in your hair for days. I have very thick, messy hair and I always struggle with knots and tangles and what with this and one of the other products my hair has been knot free for 4 days! I just use a tiny amount of the product and focus it mainly towards the lower have of my hair, then rinse it out after 5 minutes. I will definitely be purchasing a full size of this product so my hair can have an easy, untangled life from now on.
  3. Laqa & Co Cheeky Lip Pencil in Humble Brag; £17. This product is a Birchbox exclusive meaning if you want it you have to sunscribe! I've never had a product that can be used on lips and cheeks and to be honest with you I'm only just getting into blusher so I have yet to try it that way. BUT as a lip product it is definitely up there as one of my all time favourites. It's a much brighter pink than I would usually feel comfortable wearing but I feel it really compliments my skin tone.
  4. Beauty Protector Beauty Wash; £8. This product is also a Birchbox exclusive. This body wash literally smells like clean, like when I've used this I've just smelt and felt so clean. It lathers amazingly and makes your skin feel so soft after it's be washed off. In the little book that comes with your box it also says that you can put a dollop into your bath for extra little something but sadly I don't have a bath (cry cry) and haven't been able to try this.
  5. Benefit the POREfessional: license to blot; £15.50. This is the last sample product and the first product I have ever had from Benefit. To be honest, I'm not that impressed with it. It is supposed to mattify shine for up to 6 hours but I feel it's more like 1. I understand that this may just be down to my skin type but I was so disappointed! I will keep trying it out and hopefully find a way to use this that works with my skin type, I'll keep you updated on how that goes.
  6. BEAUTY BONUS! The Birchbrush; £5.99. This works in the same way as a tangle teaser does and I love it! I've used it everyday to keep my hair from tangling and I use it alongside the Detangler (product 2). This has been in my bag everyday so I can give my hair a little brush whilst out in the wind. I would definitely recommend to anyone to invest in a product like this because they do wonders to your hair!
I'm really happy with my 1st box and I'm so glad that I made the decision to subscribe. This is going to be a monthly sort of series whenever my box arrives and I hope you enjoy it and will enjoy the others too!

End of Summer Haul

Hey guys! I recently got my first job and I was so excited to finally be earning my own money that I spent most of it within the first week of having it... Honestly who doesn't do that with their first pay check!? Anyway, I had a few things in mind that I knew I definitely wanted to get (some of which I haven't got around to purchasing because my bank card isn't here yet). I also bought a few clothing items, a bag and a purse from Primark but I didn't feel they were very interesting because they're just basic things that everyone needs.
I've really been getting into lipsticks and liquid lipsticks lately and wanted to try different brands but not spend a fortune on them in case the colours didn't suit me, I didn't like the textures etc.
I successfully bought 5 different lip products whilst shopping this day and I have no regrets! I bought 3 MUA Lipsticks, 2 matte and 1 regular. These cost £1 each and they are amazing for the price! The matte shades are in the shades Fawn Fancy which is a brown nude and Peachy Keen which is a bright but subtle pink shade. The regular lipstick is in Shade 11 and I feel that Fawn Fancy is the matte version of this lipstick.
The next lip product I bought was a Collection Creme Puff liquid Lipstick in the shade Cotton Candy 1, I love this product! This cost me £2.99 and I had heard such amazing things about the Creme Puffs and it definitely lived up to the expectations I had.
The last lip product I bought on this particular day was the Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick in Pink Brandy. I literally only bought this because my lipstick collection was looking far to nude for my liking. I honestly didn't expect to like it as much as I do. This is quite a coral colour and completely different to anything I would normally buy. this cost £7.99.
I bought 2 mascaras, Avon Big & False Lash Volume Mascara (which I didn't purchase in a shop, my order arrived this day) and Maybelline The Falsies Volume Express Mascara. I love both of these mascaras and I know I'm really behind with Maybelline mascaras but for my first one, this is amazing. Both are very similar in the way they apply the product and they are also similar in price; Avon £5.99 (with freebies), Maybelline £7.99.
The last two things I bought this day were 2 face products, Rimmel Stay Matte in Peach Glow (£3.99) and Makeup Revolution Ultra Sculpt & Contour kit in fair C01 (£3.50).
I had never tried to contour before in my life until I bought this and I mean I need more practice at it but I think this product is amazing! I've tried a few Makeup Revolution products and they never fail to disappoint. The pigmentation is outstanding and it lasts on the face for so long! Once I have the hang of contouring I will never stop using this product, 10/10 would recommend.

Everyday Summer Makeup

Hey guys! I don't normally wear makeup in the summer because it's too hot and my face gets a lot oilier in the summer, but this year the weather has been terrible so I've been wearing makeup most days. I don't wear a lot of makeup and this is just the very basic products that I use on a day to day basis.

So here is an overview of the products I use;

Face:
Rimmel Stay Matte Primer in Clear 3 £5.99
Rimmel Match Perfect Foundation in 100 Ivory £6.99
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair 1 £4.19
*all prices from super drug*

Eyes:
Avon Super Shock Mascara in Black £8.50
Essence get Big Lashes in Black £2.30
*prices from the Avon UK website and Wilkinsons*

Lips:
Mac Viva Glam II £15.50
*price from Debenhams*

As you can see I tend to keep my makeup very simple because no one wants to be walking around with a face full of makeup in the heat! What I love about this simple daytime makeup is if I was to go out during the night it is really easy to make it look a bit more fancy. I would usually just add some eye shadow and maybe a brighter lip and I'm ready to go!

Thanks for reading guys, I hope you enjoyed this post! Has anyone got any makeup recommendations that I should try and review for you?

Rainy Day Blues

I don't know about you guys but I get terrible rainy day blues when the weather decides to change torrential downpoor when it's the middle of summer! Usually I just la around in my PJs watching telly and being very unproductive but today I have done so much!! So I thought I would give you guys a look at what I like to do when the weather decides not to play!
  1. I've been in my room most of the day so I decided to make nice a homely by lighting a few candles and burning some incense. I find this soooo relaxing and instantly puts me in a better mood!  My candle is a very subtle orange scent and the incense is lavander and I think the two scents complement eachother perfectly! I also put Spotify on and put on my Acoustic playlist with beautiful, relaxing songs.
  2. After lighting them I decided to put on my makeup and paint my nails. Just becasue you're stuck indoors doesn't mean you shouldn't look your best;) I painted my nails my favourite ever colour and that is the shade 'love me, cupcake!' from Essence. Me and my mum fight over this shade so much because we both love it, but it's mine so I always win:)
  3. I couldn't decide if I wanted to watch season 5 of Pretty Little Liars or read Dream a Little Dream today and it was honestly one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make because what if I wached PLL and figured out who Charles is!! I decided to read though because I've had this book for about a week now and I've only read 10 pages! There will be a review of this book coming once I've finsihed but I know it's going to be amazing becuase Giovannas' first two books are so good, they made me cry!!

I'm going to get back to reading my book now and munching on my sweet and salty popcorn (literally the best snack ever)! Have any of you got any suggestions on books I should try?

My 5 Favourite Lipsticks

Hey guys! I want to start posting more about beauty and makeup so I thought I would do something nice and simple to start off with, my 5 favourite lipsticks. I've only recently got into makeup so I don't have many lipsticks but I have a nice amount:)
Anyway let's get into it.
I'll be honest, a few of these lipsticks haven't had as much love as they deserve and this is because I've bought them, absoluetly loved the colour and loved the way they look but then been unsure of weither the colour suited me or not.

Going from left to right we have Avon Ultra Colour Bold Lipstick in Bare Impact; £7.50, Collection Gothic Glam Lipstick in Seduction 1; I think this may have been a limited edition collection as I can't find them online, Avon Ultra Colour Absolute Lipstick in Smooth Plum; £8, M.A.C Viva Glam II; £15.50 and Avon Ultra Colour Bold Lipstick in Blush Brights; £7.50.

The three Avon lipsticks are absolutely amazing! I don't normally rate Avon cosmetics very well because normally it doens't last long but these lipsticks last so long!
I wore Bare Impact to a McBusted show and it literally lasted from 7am till like 11pm! Also, it isn't an exact dupe but it's pretty similar to the M.A.C shade I have and I don't want to constantly use that so I thought I'd buy a cheaper alternative.
Smooth Plum is the colour I've worn the least but it's my favourite! It is such a perfect vampy purple shadeand I really wish I had the guts to wear this out more. I think when it comes to Autumn I'm going to start wearing it more.
My newest Avon lipstick is Blush Brights, it's a hot pink that compliments my skin tone amazingly! I usually wear this on the weekends when I'm not doing to much and just sort of lounging around.

The Collection lipstick is amazing and it's my secound favourite out of these 5. It's a kind of pink but kind of purple shade that looks so sassy! It's very moisturising and doesn't dry your lips out at all. If I had known that this little collection was limited edition then I definitely would have bought the other shades because they were all so lovely and pigmented.

Now for my favourite lipstick, Viva Glam II! I bought this whilst on holiday in Florida and I fell in love as soon as I saw it! I already knew that I wanted a nude colour that would suit as an everyday colour and I hit the jackpot! This is so smooth on the lips and the pigmentation is incredible although I don't feel like it lasts for very long when I'm wearing but that might just be me.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post:) What's your favourite lipstick?

Hair Goals

Hey guys! All my life I have had extremely boring hair, and I want a change! Like most people I've dyed it a few times; purple, auburn, attempted ombre. I've been wanting a change for ages now but I'm to chicken to cut my hair short:) I'm going to show you a quick timeline of my hair. Warning, it's very boring:)

Attempted purple hair, it didn't go well:)
An upside to having boring, long hair is that my buns turn out pretty good usually!

Tried to ombre my hair once, didn't work out well! P.S. that ice-cream was amazing!!

Tbh, I really want to cut my hair to about shoulder length (maybe a bit longer, its a long jump from bum to shoulders!) and I really want to ombre it! I look at some celebrities hair and I oogle at it, I can't understand how it looks so perfect!!

Vannessa Hudgens is literally goals! But look how stunning her hair is!

I hoping to do my hair sometime over the summer so that by the time it's my birthday I can have some fresh new locks to rock!
Hope you enjoyed this blog! Who's your hair goals?
Love, Kearra <3

TMI Tag

I wanted to do something that would let you guys know a bit more about me. I couldn't think of a better way than to do the TMI tag so here's my answers!

2: Ever been in love or had a really bad breakup? Sadly the answer to both is no.
3: How tall are you? 5" 7
4: Favourite book? I can't choose just one so my two favourite books are Billy and Me by Giovanna Fletcher and The Time Travellers Wife by Audrey Niffenegger.

6: Do you have any piercings? I have the usual ear lobe piercings and I have two helix piercings on my right ear.

10: Something you miss. Falling asleep on the sofa and then waking up in your bed the next morning not knowing how you'd got there! That was amazing:)
11: Favourite songs? This is so hard! I literally like every song ever:') BUT, if I had to pick two they would be The Show Must Go On by Queen and Lay Me Down by Sam Smith, I love them so much!!
12: How old are you? 18

14: Quality you look for in a partner? They have to be taller than me and have a good sense of humour.

16: Favourite Actor? Hugh Grant or Tim Allen, I can't choose:')
17: Favoutie colour? Lilac
18: Loud or quiet music? LOUD! I don't understand how people can listen to music quietly.

20: Favourite thing to do in your spare time? Sing! I love to sing everywhere and anything!

I hope this gives you a little knowledge about who I am and what I like to do! In the future I think I'd quite like to do more things like this, maybe Q&As? Who knows aye!

Mini America Haul

I finally went on my dream holiday, Florida! My family had been saving for so long to go on this holiday and we finally managed it this year! I could go on for hours about how amazing it was and that I never wanted to leave but that's not why I'm here:).
Whilst there I spent a fair bit of dollar on bit and pieces! This mini haul is for the things that I'd never tried, impulse buys and things that you can't buy in England (cry cry).
First up, we something that I was determined to buy while I was on holiday, a MAC product! I wanted something that I knew I would use so I thought, lipstick! I got Viva Glam II because I wanted a nice basic nude colour! This cost me $18 and now I know I like them, I want more!
Secondly, we went to Bath and Body Works on our first day there and they had an amazing deal on their Fragrance Mists, instead if being $14.99 each they were $5! Of course I bought 3 because it made the most sense:) The scents I purchased were Sweet Pea, Endless Weekend and Hawaii Passionfruit Kiss. Sweet Peanis definitely my favourite but I love them all!
Also in Bath and Body Works I took advantage of their 5 for $5 on hand sanitizers! I technically bought 11 in the end but I paid my mum for one:). I bought 5 for me and 5 as presets. The scents I got were Cupcake Sweetie, Lil' Cutie Pie X2, Beautiful Day and Champagne Sparkle. I haven't decided which is my favourite, I love them all! I also decided to buy myself a key ring holder for them. It's just gold with different coloured heart confetti in it.
From a little gift shop on International Drive I bought myself a disney shot glass with 2015 on it. I haven't used it and I'm not sure when I will to be honest because I don't want to break it but I thought it was a nice little trinket for myself.
Lastly, I bought myself a couple of Elf make up brushes. The blending brush and the powder brush! I mentioned in a previous post that I'm only recently getting in make up so I thought some affordable brushes would be brilliant to start off with and to be honest I love these brushes! I use the powder brush to apply my foundation and I think it gives a really nice finish.
I bought a lot more whilst in the states but I think these were my favourite purchases.

Makeup wish list 2015

Considering I'm 18 I've never really cared about makeup, until now! Recently I've been hooked on all things makeup, I find it so intriguing to watch tutorials on YouTube an read reviews on new products! I've got some makeup products that I use every know and again but I really want to start trying out different products! A few things I want to get this year and play about with are:

• Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer! I have heard so many people rave about this product and I've tried other products from this brand and I already know I'll love it!

• Mac Creme Cup! I have a Mac lipstick (viva glam 2) and I freaking love it! Any colour lipstick would be fabulous but I really like the look of this one as an everyday colour!

• Naked 3 pallete! I'm so far behind on the band wagon with this one but I've never been able to justify spending that much money on an eyeshadow pallete:/ BUT I can already tell that I would get good use out off this product because the colours are so beautiful and so versatile!

• Essence nail varnishes! Not exactly makeup but I love these nail varnishes! They are so affordable and come out so opaque on my nails! I have a few already (roller coaster, love me cupcake and be berry now). I'm hoping that whenever I go shopping, I'll be able to pick up a new colour and have a fabulous collection!

I'm sure there's a lot more that I would love to own but for now that's all I can think of:)

Trying Out Henna

A few weeks ago I ordered a henna kit off of eBay for about £5. I wasn't expecting to enjoy doing it because I'm not very good at art to be honest with you! Surprisingly, I love it! You don't have to be good at drawing to be good at doing henna, being messy is better! I've tried out two different patterns now and the possibilities of what you can do are endless! I personally think it looks nicer on older skin because I tried it out on my mum and I think hers looked a lot nicer than mine, but that's probably just me thinking.
Anyway, this is my first blog (how exciting!) and hopefully there will be many more to come!
